This is in the ‘oblong’ style of the US Squadron-Signal books. 280mm x 210mm, card cover 48 pages, in good condition. Text in German, but the photos are large and clear and the meaning of the captions is obvious.
The gliders covered are: DFS230, DFS 331, Go242, Go345, Ka430, Me321 and Ju322.
Large photos show construction details, cockpits, seating arrangements, towing by Dornier Do17, formation towing 3-plan views, piggy-back under a Messerschmitt Bf109,helicopter experiments, snow operations, rocket-assisted take-off, the huge Messerschmitt me21 towed by three Me110s, and the Me321 towed by a ‘double’ He111Z.
The last page has technical data for all the gliders and the back cover has two colour views, the Me321 and Gotha Go242.
There is also a poster showing the cover painting, of DFS 230s landing on operations with troops disembarking.
